Here's some new shit:
-A new SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM is out! #8 is the biggest issue yet and, in my biased opinion, has some of the best content yet. Click the SITF link to see what it's all about.
-We actually have a new release out too! The long overdue, WAKING UP HURTS tape is out. Despite it taking forever, mainly because I didn't want to have to deal with all the emotions that went along with completing it, the tape came out exactly how I had invisioned it and I couldn't be more proud. There is a picture up, along with all the info in the "RELEASES" section.
-After the WAKING UP HURTS release, I think I'm done putting any more records/tapes out. In the past few years my focus has shifted from the label to the zine. I like it this way, and even though there is still some stuff that I would love to have a hand in releasing, for now I don't see any need to keep the label going. This site will remain up, but if I can ever get a lot of time at a computer I will switch the focus to having the Zine at the forefront and condensing the label to just one page. Who knows when that will happen though.
-In band news, PANZRAM has been writing and is just about ready to record. We have a 10" and a 7" planned, the 10" being released at least partially by our friend, Nevin at IFB Records. We have the idea for the packaging ready and just have to figure out the cover and inside artwork still. We are planning a tour this winter and will have the record out by then. Unfortunetely, the demo's are all gone, but you can download the whole demo and find out what's new at HUMAN CRUSH RECORDINGS
-MERKIT just got back from a 3 week European tour with Tennessee's DOLCIM. We didn't know them before we went overseas with them and were a bit skeptical, but we got along great and became tight quick. While over there we played the amazing Cry Me A River fest put on by React With Protest Records. That and the whole trip really reinforced how much we hate America, American's and American punks/hardcores. Shit, those Europeans do it right and I wish we could have even half as good of a touring circut/DIY community in the states. Not really sure what's happening with Merkit as of now. We got offered to do a UK tour next summer with our split mates, RESURRECTIONISTS and BATTLE OF WOLF 359, but we'll have to see what comes of us as a band until then.

-Since I don't have a ton of access to update this site at home, and because some people asked about it, I'm going to start a mailing list for when updates (mostly about the Zine) pop up. If you are interested please send an email to: hiszeroisgone@yahoo.com with the subject: "SITF MAILING LIST."

-Thanks to everyone who has shown interest in the label, zine and/or any other projects that I've been involved with.

9 months since the last update. You know the deal. It is, and will forever be this way. I have a computer, but no internet access at my house, and I really like it that way. Some big stuff has happened on many fronts and even though my focus still lays with the zine, the label does have a new realease! Read on for the scoop:
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #7 is out! It's been picked up by some distributors and people who sell zines at shows and just got a killer review in MaximumRockNRoll. All of my copy scams have dried up, so I decided to get this one printed. I found a great old fashioned, family owned, local shop with and got an awesome deal. The owner was actually really excited about the project and he did a stellor job! With that, I had to start charging for issue and not just postage, so now issue #7 (and probably all issues to come) with be $1 in person, $2 by mail in the states and $3.50 elsewhere. I also got interviewed about the zine while on tour, so hopefully that will see the light of day in zine form sooner or later. I'll post the info when necessary. I'm still riding the high of having the zine out and am conjuring up ideas for #8. Click on the SITF link to see what's inside this issue.
-The label has a new release by PANZRAM, who consists of John (from Merkit, MRR columnist fame & the notorious European table dancer) and myself. We just released a 7 song demo that you can see here. We also just got back from a 10 day tour up the east coast and back which was a blast! Those tapes (and a handful of cdr's if you are so inclined) come with a booklet, a pro-printed tape and a whole bunch of ugly hardcore. They are available for $5 in the states/$6 elsewhere.
-Unfortunetely, COTIDIE MORI broke up, so the split LP with MAGDALENE. will not be happening. Not too sure whats going on with the MAGDALENE gents but I know they were playing with the idea of an American tour. Still, both bands have other releases which you would be a fool not to pick up if you see them.
-MERKIT has a new split out with German killers, RESURRECTIONISTS on IFB Records that also just got a killer review in MRR. Other than that things are pretty slow.
-The WAKING UP HURTS 7" is still just floating around in my head, mainly because I just don't have the money to release it. Maybe one day, maybe not.
-I updated the quite a few different sections of this site, so poke around and see if you notice anything new. I have been busy with the zine, PANZRAM, screen printing as well as getting situated in a new house, so updates will continue to be very infrequent. Check back every so often to see whats up. Thanks to everyone who writes, orders, distributes, helps assemble and fold and keeps me inspired.

It's been a while, like always. Not too much is going on with the label. The zine is my main focus lately. Issue 6 is out now. It's the biggest issue yet and I have to say, i'm pretty happy with it. #7 is on deck and still needs some contributions. Check the SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM section of this page for more info.
-In label news: I've planned to release a WAKING UP HURTS 7" to honor my promise to Nick. It will have 3 remastered songs from his demo CDr. This one obviously means a lot to me, so i'm not rushing it and spending some time coming up with some good packaging ideas. There will be 250-300 of these, I haven't decided yet. There is no planned release date, but hopefully this will be out by the new year.
-After that, I've agreed to help put out a split LP between to awesome Italian bands, COTIDIE MORI and MAGDALENE. We met these guys on tour this past summer and can't tell you how excited we are to have a hand in this release. COTIDIE MORI play tragic sounding hardcore and MAGDELINE play a powerful, atmospheric brand of hardcore like a mixture of EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and ENVY. Awesome hardcore, awesome people. This will be a split release with *IFB* Records, Sons Of Vesta and possibly Tomasso, from MAGDELINE's label.
-And after that? Who knows. Like I said, the label is slowing down. But I do have some ideas floating around. Perhaps they'll see the light of day, one of these days.
-Also, the SPOONFUL OF VICODIN record has been cancelled.

-***YES, WE HAVE A NEW ADDRESS*** WTFHTT?RECORDS!/Seven Inches To Freedom Zine/Merkit/Evil Existence can now be reached at: P.O. Box 457/Ft. Myers, Fl 33902-0457/USA
-In Other News: Merkit is going on tour this summer. Check HERE for the details.
-I'll be helping put out a 7" by Rochester grinders, SPOONFUL OF VICODIN shortly. I do believe it will break their string of bad luck and be their first appearance on vinyl! Stay tuned for that!!!
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #6 is still in the works. It's a mostly Florida issue and should hopefully be done by August. Also, I got interviewed in MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL #301!!! Check it out and see how much I swear.
-After about 4 years in the same house, i'm going to be moving. So everything is going to be on hold for a while...not that i've been doing that much with the label anyways. But, you know that's how things are going to be. I'll put out a record/tape whenever i'm excited and have the means to do so. Thanks to everyone who has ordered over the years!
-One of these days i'll do a big update on the site...but not until everything else gets situated, so don't hold your breath!

Feb. 2nd 2008
-As I'm sure some of you know, Nicolas Klimczak, who started this label with me, passed away on December 6th of this past year. He was one of my best friends and even though we ended up living on opposite sides of the country and would go months without hearing from each other, everytime we talked, it was like old times. I still don't know what I'll do without him. I love you, Nick. We truly were kings.

-It's been forever since i've updated this site. So here's whats up:
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #5 has been out for a while and are available for $1($2 outside of the US). Check the SITF page for the full scoop.
-The MERKIT/HOMBRINUS DUDES split LP is almost done. The jackets are printed, inserts are back from the printer and the test presses have been ok'd, so now we are just gluing the covers and waiting for the records to come! This has been a long time coming and we can't wait for it to be out. Check back in a few weeks for more info. In other MERKIT news, we are heading to Europe this summer with our friends, HER BREATH ON GLASS!!! We can't wait! There will be a split 7" with HBOG released for that tour. We are working on those and some other songs as we speak.
-WTFHTT?RECORDS doesn't have any releases planned. Saving money is kind of taking priority lately. But, I've been helping out friends with art and screen printing a bunch lately, so my enthusiam is always brimmin'! And who knows, I've always got some ideas bouncing around in my head. But for now check out *IFB* Records and Drugged Conscience Records to tide you over.

August 29th 2007
-Summer is coming to a close, and good fucking riddance! The label has been going pretty slow as of late, and a couple more releases are now sold out. The MERKIT demo, MERKIT s/t 7" & the MERKIT/DEMIAN SPLIT are all sold out. They aren't that hard to find though, i know a bunch of distros still have copies...but we don't.
-There are still plenty of copies of the BUCKSHOT FACELIFT 7". They are $4 by mail and still available for trade. BUCKSHOT also just got a damn good review in MaximumRocknRoll as well as Hey Ronnie zine. They are still playing shows, and working on new shit.
-MERKIT got back from a kick ass tour this summer and are going in to finish up there recording for the HOMBRINUS DUDES split LP in about a week. This shit will kill all and should be out by Dec. of this year, hopefully sooner.
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #5 is in the works and will be down before the end of September. It will be hard to top Issue #4, but i'm trying my best. Copies of Issue #4 are still available for $1, and contributions are still welcome for the new one. Send your shits in!

-April 12th 2007
-THE BUCKSHOT FACELIFT RECORDS ARE IN!!!! They look killer and sound great! Check out the releases page for more info. This is a split release with 4 friends, so i only have 100 copies, but i looking to trade like a motherfucker! If you are down, please get in touch! MP3's will be up soon!
-MERKIT is planning their summer tour. It is going to be 3 weeks in the midwest/east coast, and the last 9 dates are going to be with DEAD FRIENDS from Gainsville, FL. We are stoked and can't wait to hit the road. If you can help out in anyway, please get in touch! Click HERE to see the dates. Other than that, MERKIT is just writing and practing for the upcoming split LP with HOMBRINUS DUDES!

-March 31st 2007
-I got the BUCKSHOT FACELIFT test presses and the sound great! Vinyl makes this shit even nastier. Everything else is done and awaiting the record. Once I get these in, i'll post pictures and a song or two (if i can figure out how).
-Next up is the yet to be named comp 7". This comp is going to be full of bands that make us proud to be part of DIY hc. The bands are as followed: LOADED FOR BEAR, DEAD FRIENDS, SPOONFUL OF VICODIN, HOMBRINUS DUDES, BUCKSHOT FACELIFT, DUCKBOMB, LEPER & MERKIT. This like the BUCKSHOT 7" is going to be a release by everyone in MERKIT. We are all super excited to document these bands who are all genuine, totally destroy musically, & are made up of good people. We only have songs from 4 bands, but the rest are recording soon. We are shooting for June as a release date on this one. I'll keep you posted.
-MERKIT is going in to record soon, and also starting to book shows for our summer tour. We are leaving in late June and staying out for 3 weeks. I'll have the plan and dates up soon! If you can help in anyway, PLEASE get in touch.
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #4 is still pretty new.

-March 9th 2007
-The BUCKSHOT FACELIFT 7" is at the pressing plant now. The covers will be finished tonight and the lyric sheet will be done this week. Hell yeah! Stay Tuned.
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #4 is out. I'm super proud of it and i've gotten a ton of good feedback, 50 million elvis fans can't be wrong, so pick one up! They're $1 by mail to:

-FEBUARY 16th 2007
-It's been a while since the last update, like always. Things have been pretty quiet lately, but there are two releases in the works. The first being the BUCKSHOT FACELIFT 7". This is their demo put to record. It fucking destroys and is some of the best and most intersting grind i've heard. This is going to come in a two color screen printed jacket, that are going to be printed next weekend. For a short time we thought about not releasing this, but then we came to our senses.
-Next is going to be a comp 7". The comp is going to be of bands that we have met that really make up happy to be a part of DIY HC. So far we have talked to about most of the bands we wanted to be a part of it and they said yes. Once things get rolling a little more i'll spill the beans on this most excellent of projects!
-The MERKIT/ROBOTEER split 7" is out now and is available for $4ppd.
-SEVEN INCHES TO FREEDOM #4 is out! I'm so proud of this issue. It's thick, has great content and looks killer. Click on the link at the bottom of the menu to check it out!!!!

-Alright. The MERKIT/ROBOTEER 7" is at the pressing plant and the art is done. There are some plans for 2 7"ers in the works, but until we really talk about them, i'm going to keep them quiet.
-Seven Inches To Freedom #4 is in the works and i need some contributions. If you are interested, please click on the zine link to see how you can help!

-SEPTEMBER 9th 2006
-We've got a new release out! The old Naples comp, now entitled: MAYBE WE SHOULD'VE JUST STAYED IN FLORIDA is done. It really looks and sounds killer. Read more about it and see the cover art in the "RELEASES" section.

-Other than that, we are finally getting to work on the artwork for the MERKIT/ROBOTEER split 7". Also, MERKIT is going to be playing some shows soon. I'll post more info once it's available.

-There are also some new links and stuff in the "FOR SALE" section.

-AUGUST 27th 2006
Holy Shit. Behold the new WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO TAPES? RECORDS! website! It has been a long time since the last update, and a lot of stuff has happened/not happened/changed, so i figured it was time to start fresh. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN RE-DONE, so take a look around. The "Releases" section is really extensive now and includes other releases that are some how related to this label. There is also a section for the Fanzine i've been doing, Seven Inches To Freedom. Click on the link at the bottom to see what that is all about. Now onto the news:

Label News:
-We have a release coming out soon!!!! Fuck yes! It's feels great to be paying this label some attention again. The release I speak of is a tape comp of old Naples bands! I don't know why it took me so long to do this, but it's coming out soon. I have the track listing done, some of the layout done...i just don't have a name yet. This is going to be like the original WTFHTT? releases and be on recycled tapes and only cost what i put into it. I'm happy to finally pay tribute to the bands that got me wanting to start this label in the first place. Read more about it in the "Upcoming Releases" section.

-In related news, MERKIT has a new 7" coming out soon! It's a split 7" with our friends from Tallahassee, ROBOTEER! The music is done, we just need to get on the fucking artwork. We have ideas and are stoked to have this record out. This should be done in another month or so. Keep checking back.

Seven Inches To Freedom fanzine:
-I decided to post info about the zine on the internet, and there is no use creating a whole seperate page, so it's attatched at the bottom of this page. The zine is now on it's third issue, which is still pretty new. Visit the SITF page for info on what the zine is about and what each issue features.
