-Merkit has a new split 7" out with Germany's, RESURRECTIONISTS. These are 4 new songs by us recorded at the begining
or 2009. RESURRECTIONISTS plays chaotic, powerful, wall-of-noise hardcore like only the Europeans can. Blastbeats
mixed with haunting chords, huge bass lines and blown out male/female vocals. While in Europe last summer, we played at
Lars and Sabine's beautiful house that was surrounded by wheat fields. After that, they put us up and we hung out and
talked about Lars' label, React With protest, and all things punk and not. Truthfully, we didn't think Lars liked us much,
due to his quiet demeanor. But when we got back to the states, he asked us to do a split! We were super-excited, one because
the music destroyed and two because we respect Lars' label and him and Sabine as people. So it was a no brainer. Joe had an idea
for artwork, but couldn't get it on to paper and in his search to do so, found a rendition of the autopsy performed on Chang & Eng,
"The Original Siamese Twins." It seemed to fit with the feel or both sides of the recordm so we decided to go with it.
-Other than that, Merkit has slowed quite a bit. Chris lives 2 hours away and for the him and the rest of us, life and other project have
gotten in the way. We are still a band, have plans for the future, but are stagnant for the time being. What lies ahead? Time
will tell.
-The site has been updated with the new record and whatever info was out of date. Keep your ears open and check back every so often
to see whats up.

-It's time for an overhaul of the site. A lot of the info up was old and outdated, so i figured why not change it
up a bit. I haven't had my own computer to work from and didn't want to hog my roommates' while I struggle
with the little HTML I know, so that's why there hasn't been any updates. But here's the scoop:
-We made is back from our US/Europe tour with a bunch of memories, stories and some new friendships. Both tours
were great and gave us two milestones to speak of. In the US, we collectively believe that we played our "best"
show at this years Michigan Meltdown in Grand Rapids, MI. And in Bergamo, Italy we played to about 200-300
people, which is by far our "biggest" show. Thanks to all the folks that took care of us in anyway possible.
-Despite things being pretty slow, we have a few new songs that we will be recording soon for an all-Florida LP
that 3 out of the 4 of us are helping put out. So far the bands will be: MEHKAGO N.T., DEAD FRIENDS,
CULT RITUAL, DIVISIONS, MURDER-SUICIDE PACT, DEHUMINIZATION CONSULAR & Us. Shit is going to be tight. No release
date yet, but it's moving along.
-We are playing this years This Is For You Fest. Check: their Myspace
for the complete line up and details. We're also playing some other shows in the near future too. Check the
SHOWS page for more info.
-In updating the site, I somehow lost all of the old news. Bummer.
